The combination of this medication is used to treat high blood sugar levels caused by type 2 diabetes. You can use this medication together with a proper diet and regular exercise. It is also used to minimize the risk of death in people with type 2 diabetes, heart disease, or blood vessel disease. This tablet contains two medicines namely EMPAGLIFLOZIN 10MG, and LINAGLIPTIN 5MG which belong to a group of medicines called antidiabetic agents.
Empagliflozin+linagliptin combines both empagliflozin and linagliptin. Controlling high blood sugar levels can help prevent kidney disease, blindness, nerve problems, limb loss, and sexual function issues. Proper diabetes management may also reduce your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Empagliflozin works by improving your kidney’s ability to remove sugar. At the same time, Linagliptin works by boosting the amounts of naturally occurring molecules known as incretins. Incretins help to regulate blood sugar by boosting insulin release, particularly after a meal. They also reduce the quantity of sugar your liver produces.
Take this medication as advised by your doctor, to get optimum results take the proper dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not chew or crush this medication, swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. You can take this medication with or without food as advised by your doctor.
Like other medications, EMPAGLIFLOZIN 10MG, and LINAGLIPTIN 5MG TABLET also have some harmful effects. These side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear over time when your body adjusts to this medication. But if you experience these side effects persistently, then consult with your doctor and get medical help if you are worried about them.
EMPAGLIFLOZIN 10MG, LINAGLIPTIN 5MG TABLET is an anti-diabetic medication. It contains two medications: empagliflozin and linagliptin. Empagliflozin removes extra carbohydrates from the body through urine. Linigliptin, on the other hand, causes the pancreas to generate more insulin (a hormone that helps the body digest carbohydrates). These actions used together, regulate blood sugar levels and enhance glycaemic control in people with type II diabetes.
Allergy – Do not take this medication if you are allergic to EMPAGLIFLOZIN, and LINAGLIPTIN.
Pregnancy – If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, then inform your doctor before taking this medication. Never take this medication without consulting with your doctor, because it is not known whether this medication is harmful or not for the developing baby.
Breastfeeding – If you are a lactating mother then consult with your doctor before taking this medication. Limited study shows that it passes to the breast milk and harms the baby. So consult with your doctor before taking this medication.
Driving – This medication may decrease the ability to drive and make you sleepy and dizzy. So do not drive after taking this medication.
Alcohol – Avoid the consumption of alcohol while taking this medication.
Kidney – If you are a kidney patient then take this medication with caution. So consult with your doctor before taking this medication. Your doctor may prescribe this medication with caution.
Liver – If you are suffering from a liver problem then consult with your doctor before taking this medication. Never take this medication without consulting with your doctor.
